By 1890, the 245 residents of Littleton voted to incorporate the town.

In 1904, then-Governor Orman named Littleton as the county seat. This assured the position of the city of Littleton among Colorado's cities. Littleton remained mainly agricultural until after World War II, when other industries began to flourish. Electronics and pneumatics, then munitions, then aerospace – manufacturing became a vital provider of work for the city, creating a boom in Littleton real estate during the 50s all the way to the 70s. Littleton celebrated its centennial in 1990.
